Long Lost Updates
And some other things.
Hey folks,
It’s been far too long since I’ve sent out a newsletter. I would like to think it was because my life was too busy. But in reality, it’s for sure part procrastination, part imposture syndrome, and part goblin mind always being too distracted with bright and glittery things.
Anywhos, I am back with updates (hopefully more regularly), some self-deprecating “humor”, and maybe even some fun anecdotes.
So let’s dive in!
Table of Contents
Life Updates
As you may have noticed, I didn’t really release any books in 2025. I mean, I did have the paperback of A Quarter Life come out in the very beginning of January 2025 (available on Amazon), but I didn’t have any other titles officially released after that.
That wasn’t the intention, but ended up to be the reality. As they say: “Art is a process”. To which I would say: “That process is a cruel and sociopathic jackass!”
As the year went on, I realized my goals and timeline of publishing many beautiful things in 2025 was closing. And this was not so great for that ol’ goblin mind of mine. There was a constant sense of failure and disappointment that dripped like a damn leaky faucet. A slow and taunting reminder that 2025 was…well…not the best year.
(Ha! this got sad REAL quick, but bear with me)
By late summer/early fall, I knew I wasn’t going to meet many of my self-set goals. This was a real bummer. I knew something was wrong, but couldn’t pin point what. Don’t worry, my physical health is fine…mostly. But I do believe much of last year’s stress is a result of not focusing enough on my own mental health, which lead me to be exhausted. The same exhaustion I am willing to bet many of us are feeling. And if I am being real, that exhaustion is still there. While I know all of this is very doom and gloom sounding, I wanted to be real and honest with you. To know that I haven’t given up on my dreams or passions, but to provide a peak behind the curtain of what it can be like to be in the creative workload and lifestyle. I honestly don’t expect that exhaustion to go away anytime soon, though I am actively working on combating it. Little things throughout the day that keep me going, that give hope, and light, and remind me of why I love to create.
However, there is a silver lining. While I was busy not publishing new books for you last year, I did end up creating a good amount of new work to be published this year. Many pieces of work that are mostly finished. Which leads me to the next topic.
Book Updates
As I said, there are many things that are “mostly" finished.
The Curiosity Collection: A Roll of the Dice
(Title still being fine tuned and decided).
This is the fourth installment of The Curiosity Collection (obvs) and is kind of my first love letter to the escapism genre as well as D&D. It has gone through some serious re-writes. Enough for me to scratch what I had last year at this time and start over as the original project wasn’t where I wanted it to be. This will be a fun book for fans of D&D, Jumanji, and/or any other form of escapism, all based around a fantasy role playing game.
I’m Currently 90% on Draft #3. I am aiming to have drafts #4 and #5, complete this week as most of the heavy load re-work is now complete. I’ll send it off to the editors once I get through draft #6 or #7.
This is expected to be out sometime in March 2026 (not 2025 as originally planned). As I get closer, you will know the exact date. I won’t have much of a pre-release campaign for this one as I just want to get more books out there.
The Curiosity Collection #5
I am currently about 80% through draft #2 on this one. I have had it on the back burner for about four months now as I was deciding if it was “Curious” enough for the Curiosity Collection. I have come to the conclusion that it is, but will need some more heavy-lifting edits on the future drafts. However, most of those edits have already been outlined and figured out for easier implementation.
This Curiosity Collection will take place mostly on another planet. Looking at a May 2026 release date.
Young Adult Video Game Series
For about 2-3 years, I have been working on a video game series that takes place in the early 90’s. Maybe even longer now that I think of it. As time goes on, I realize I need to get this one out of my head. It is one I get excited with the most, but have also feared the most out of all of my projects. Lately my brain has been getting itchy with the fact that it is not finished. Which means, I have been working on it more and more, and will not stop or write another project (only edit) until the first draft is complete.
It will be my first entry into the Young Adult space, so I am often thinking back what it was like to be a teenager and how I viewed the world at the time. A challenging project, but also an eye opening one.
I am currently about 70% complete and was actually just working on it today before I wrote this newsletter.
Estimated Release Date is mid/late summer 2026.
Other Books
I have three or four other Curiosity Collection stories partially written. All about 25%-75% complete on the first draft. I will have more details on those by late spring/early summer.
I have another Young Adult Series in the works that is based around modern day magic. I will get back to work on that when my gaming book is complete. Been having fun with lots of research around natural and elemental witchcraft for this project.
I also have a New Adult series outlined and even about 10% complete on the first draft. But I paused that for now as well.
The last series I have is a romance adventure series with about 11,000 words written so far. I’m still figuring that one out and reading some romance/adventure novels lately for more study and research.
Like I’ve mentioned before, shiny objects.
Other Updates
During the times I am not working (more like procrastinating), I have been trying to keep my mind active and busy. I have been staying occupied with knitting and even joined a craft group where I now have local friends. Something that I find harder to come by as I get older and self-employed working from home. This has made my partner happy as they always told me I needed more friends (that isn’t our animals) and to get out of the house more. Haha, they aren’t wrong.
I have also been focusing on some language learning. Something I have done for many years, but never really put a great amount of effort into it. So now, I am working on that about an hour a day.
Well, I think that is it for now. Time to get back to some editing and writing.
Until next time,
